Artist: Miriam Vlaming

Miriam Vlaming, b. 1971, one of the major representatives of the New Leipzig School. She studied at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts with Arno Rink and graduated as his master student.

Since the beginning of her creative work, Miriam Vlaming has dealt with the symbiosis of man and nature. Characteristic of her works is the fusion of canvas protagonists with the surrounding floral ornamentation. The artist raises the question of human identity and becoming human as the central theme of her work.

In Kerber-Verlag, a new catalog "Human Nature" was published in June 2017. In August 2017, the journal ART published an article about the "New Leipzig School", including Miriam Vlaming's painting. The DuMont ART Calendar 2018 depicts a motif of her painting on the title page.
